Top Ten Best YA Reads of 2011 (Mainstream Publisher)

Admittedly, not all of these were released in 2011, but this was the year when I finally got around to reading some of these fantastic books. In a lot of cases, I felt like smacking myself; I mean, who waits until now to read Evernight, or Blue Bloods? But in other cases, I simply didn't know they existed until now, as with the fantastic Willow by Julia Hoban. What puts something on my Top 10 list, besides fabulousness? These are the kind of books I will not only recommend, but read over again. For me, that's saying a lot, considering how huge my TBR pile has gotten. The Top 2 slots are so competitive, it was difficult to differentiate, but in both cases, I can honestly call the reading experience life-changing. Stay tuned for my Top 10 Indie Reads of 2011, and here they are, in descending order of favorite-ness:

  1. Loved Divergent!! thought it was an excellent debut for this author and can't wait for the sequel!! Abandon was another great read (which lead me down the path of reading Meg Cabot for a few weeks!)and Chime is in the top 10 of my TBR (to be read) pile- which right now is big enough to make a fort for someone to hang out in! Now, thanks to your list I have some more to add!
    Merry Christmas!!
PS: Can't wait for your next book!

  2. How sad is it I've read ONE of those, though it is on my top ten list? Also, On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta & Fire by Kristin Cashore.
